Sweet Treats

Red Mango - Frozen Yogurt - if you like more creamy and sweeter froyo, red mango, it is.

Paul Lafayette has the best cream brûlée. The little tray can be re-used after such as holding your earrings and accessories

Holly Brown in Hong Kong is very similar to Coldstone in the US, very yummie gelato

The Magic of A Change

Friends and people around us make us who we are today. Most people are not willing to leave their comfort zone because they are scared. They fear unfamiliarity, they fear uncertainty. Once in a while, having some changes in life isn't so bad and scary.

The first step for a change is to step out of your comfort zone and meet some new people who are different from your own crowd. Once you take this first step, you are open to a whole new world you have never known before. Sometimes, a little change may surprise you and brings magic to your life.

"Sometimes the hardest choices we make end up being the best thing we could have ever done for ourselves."

The Pawn

It's been awhile since I got together with my 3 lovely colleagues. The Pawn in Wan Chai is a nice place for girls hang out. I had been there once for drinks and this morning I tried their brunch. It was not bad. The outdoor sitting was nice too.

<3 Jenny Bakery

I would say the best butter cookie in Hong Kong would be Jenny Bakery. Not only the cookies are yummie, I especially love their teddy bear boxes. They change the boxes all the time and you never know what you would get next. Highly recommend for those who love cookies.

♥ Recap of my past year in Hong Kong

Life is like weather, you can never predict what's gonna happen next. Who knew I would have moved to Hong Kong for nearly a year already. And what have I been doing here? Apart from work, I of course continue to explore delicious food and interesting places around the world. I have spent my summer last year in NYC, it was so great to be back and not only have I met my old friends, I've also met many new people. During Christmas break, I have gone to California with John. My first time visiting Napa Valley, it's a gorgeous place with amazing wine. This year in March, I took two weekend trips to Singapore and Taipei. Had a lot of good food, chili crab especially in Singapore and many more in Night markets in Taiwan. This coming summer, I'm going to India for the first time for a good friend's wedding. Many more vacations ahead and many more exploration.

It's been one whole year since my last post and it's been one whole year since I've moved to Hong Kong. Life has been busy but fruitful with love.

♥ Little Breaks from Study Sessions

I am on my two week vacation before starting new work in Hong Kong. People say time passes by faster when you are happy or having fun; more than a week has passed but time flies only because I have been so busy with everything.

Finally the apartment in Hong Kong is pretty much settled. 80% of my time/vacation goes to - studying CFA. Exam is in 3 weeks and there's no more time for slacking off. Even so, I manage to get little breaks in between to brighten up my days with refreshing coffee and yummie food.

Starting next week, I will begin a brand new chapter in life with everything new. After years of hard work, I have finally got the job I've wanted and from there I can finally start building my own career and future. Thanks to my family and Dear John for believing in me always and being so supportive the whole time.

Having a brand new life ahead, I may be worried. I may be scared. But with faith in heart, I know I am brave enough to overcome all the uncertainties ahead!

♥ Amber

Surprising Dinner last Saturday at Amber to celebrate me and Dear John's 2nd Anniversary. Just came across the latest Top 50 restaurants in the World list last night and saw Amber is the 37th this year. It is indeed an amazing place with super delicious food! We had tried its signature 8 course tasting menu and it had been a wonderful 3 hour long dinner. It's interior design reminds me of One if By Land in New York City. I guess it's mainly because of the reddish color. By far, One if By Land is the most romantic restaurant I have been and would definitely go back there again in the near future.

My favorite dishes of the night is definitely the Hokkaido sea urchin with lobster jello and caviar, foie gras lollipop and its waygu beef. Its desserts and other dishes are just as delicious!

♥ W hotel - Living Room

Sunday Afternoon tea is one of my favorite weekend activities. After trying the few main ones in Central, I have decided to go somewhere new. The environment at the Living Room at W hotel is very nice. Quiet and relaxing. My friends and I all enjoyed it a lot. Since a friend of mine does not eat meat, we have ordered the low high tea set (all american food without dimsum). Its interesting that the scones are put in a chinese steam basket. The food itself is just average though, nothing too amazing. The chocolate cookies lattee I ordered definitely did not taste anything like chocolate nor cookies. If you have been here for high tea before, I would say try somewhere else before considering come back again.

♥ Prime

A random thought suddenly came to my friend when we were at Elements 2 weeks ago - steak for dinner. As recommended by a friend, we went to Prime - restaurant and bar - for dinner. I have ordered an 8oz sirloin while my boyfriend ordered the 12oz prime ribeye with 2 side dishes, rosemary fries and spinach. It was a very satisfying and delicous dinner.
